At Inenzo Water, we recognize that our role in the water sector is inextricably linked to South Africa’s socio-economic growth. We believe that every project we undertake is an opportunity to create sustainable livelihoods and develop the technical skills necessary for a water-secure future.

HISTORY

D Ten Hove Consultancy

Since 1992 the Astrumaer is the 3rd vertical shaft rim-blade aerator that has been developed by D. Ten Hove Consultancy BV in the Netherlands. Constant research and renovation are the basis to developing the Astrumaer aerator in order to further increase performance. From comparison tests in the aerator test tank of D. Ten Hove Consultancy at Hooglanderveen it has shown that the Astrumaer is superior in oxygen transfer and mixing capacity.

A large protion of Cape Town’s wastewater runs through technologies which have been designed and constructed by Inenzo Water.

Inenzo Water contributes more than a
100 000 hours of manpower every year towards ensuring that treated effluent returns to nature in a safe manner.

Expertly designed, manufactured, and commissioned water treatment systems tailored for municipal and industrial excellence.

The Astrumaer aerator is a highly efficient, low speed, open type vertical shaft aerator. The Astrumaer consists of 10 vertical blades connected at the circumference of the horizontal flat plate. The shape of the blade is specially designed for maximum splashing and mixing/propulsion of the water with minimum water friction. To control the splashing the blades are at the top side folded over 30 degrees into the direction of rotation. The horizontal flat plate is designed to withstand the reaction forces of the water working at the blades, without interfering with the splashing of the water. The robust intermediate shaft is constructed as a one-piece shaft and is connected to the gearbox by means of a rigid coupling with high tensile fastening bolts. The aerator can be constructed from steel or stainless steel. If steel is used the aerator will be protected by a high grade coating system.
